This tour starts from Rovaniemi city centre and will then drive you to one of the most traditional reindeer farms in Southern Lapland. These family herders are based just outside of Rovaniemi on the lovely shores of a peaceful lake. They have been herding for 200 years and living in this area for 500 years. From our perspective, they provide the best experience possible when it comes to both knowledge and service.
At the farm, you will be introduced to your reindeer and can then take a seat in the sleigh. Your reindeer will then take you for a peaceful sleigh trip where Arctic nature shows all its silent beauty. Just a bit of luck is needed, and you will soon be able to spot and enjoy the precious Northern Lights dancing over your head.
After the trip, hot drinks and snacks are waiting for you in a wooden cottage on the farm. By the fire, the herders will tell you more about the Lappish way of life and reindeer husbandry. Reindeer herding is a very traditional activity in Lapland, and they will be happy to share with you about their lifestyle and passion.

The Northern Lights are a natural occurrence, which activity, vibrancy of color cannot be guaranteed on the evening of the tour
The safari is limited in number for the safety and wellness of the animals. We recommend to book in advance, especially in peak season. This safari will operate in any weather conditions. Even though the Northern Lights prediction is low, you will still enjoy a great reindeer experience into the wilderness.
Hotel pick-ups commence 10 – 60 minutes prior to the start time. Your pick up time will be confirmed by email.
Note: As this is a partner tour we cannot guarantee the number of guests on location at the reindeer farm.
What do I need to bring?
- Bottle of water,
- We will provide you with overalls and boots, but please be prepared and use good under-layers, socks, hats and gloves.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event,
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event,
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event.
