Pyhä in winter

Experience a relaxing and inspiring day in Pyhä–Luosto National Park. Your adventure begins with comfortable transport from Rovaniemi to Pyhä Fell, where your local guide will greet you and lead a warm and informative Guided Welcome Tour in the Pyhäkuru area.

During this gentle 45-minute walk, your guide will share the stories of Pyhä’s dramatic fell landscapes, Arctic nature and history — and introduce you to the area’s most iconic highlights. You will also receive your printed Pyhä Explorer Guide, which includes discount codes, maps, viewpoints, recommended trails, cafés, photo spots and top activities for the day.

After the introduction, you’ll have free time to enjoy Pyhä independently. If you want to eat something after the tour we have Cafe Kuru in Pyhäkuru open for you (choose as an extra when you are making your booking). You can choose from a wide range of activities depending on your interests and the season, such as:

09:00 – Departure from Rovaniemi

The bus departs from the parking area at Poromiehentie 3, located next to the city centre and just a short walk from Revontuli Shopping Center.
You can arrive by car and leave your vehicle there for the day.

Please arrive 15 minutes before departure. Look for our bus marked “Pyhäkuru Adventure Bus”.

If you arrive with your own vehicle, you can park in the Revontuli Shopping Center parking hall, which is right next to the meeting point.
Please note that the parking hall is paid parking and suitable for full-day parking.

  • Located on Poromiehentie, across from the central commercial area
  • Easy access by foot from most city hotels
  • Paid parking hall is suitable for private cars and tour buses

The bus makes a short pick-up stop at Santa Claus Village on the way to Pyhä Fell at 09:10.

11:00 – Arrival at Pyhä Fell

Welcome to Pyhä Fell and the edge of the Pyhä–Luosto National Park. Once the bus arrives, your guide from the Adventure Park area will meet the group at Hotel Kultakero. Before the tour begins, you can take a short bathroom break inside the hotel.

After the break, your guide will lead you to the starting point of the Guided Welcome Tour, located next to the Adventure Park Pyhäkuru area. In the bus you will receive your printed Pyhä Explorer Guide, which includes discount codes, maps, viewpoints, recommended walking routes, cafés, restaurants and the top things to do during your free time (for example amethyst mine or downhill skiing).

This arrival moment sets the tone for the day as you step into the peaceful fell landscape and begin exploring one of Finland’s most iconic national parks.

11:15 – 12:00 – Guided Welcome Tour

Begin your visit with a relaxed and informative Guided Welcome Tour in the Pyhäkuru area. Your local guide will introduce you to the unique landscape of Pyhä Fell and the Pyhä–Luosto National Park — one of Finland’s oldest and most iconic protected areas.

During this gentle walk, your guide will share stories about the region’s geology, nature and the eight Arctic seasons. You will explore beautiful viewpoints and learn how to make the most of your day in the fell.

You will also receive your printed Pyhä Explorer Guide, which includes the best routes, scenic spots, cafés, restaurants, discount codes and activity tips for the afternoon. This short introduction gives you everything you need to confidently enjoy Pyhä on your own for the rest of the day.

No previous experience is needed — just curiosity and warm clothing.

 
12:00 – 17:00 – Free Time at Pyhä Fell

After completing your guided welcoming tour, you have the rest of the afternoon free to explore Pyhä Fell at your own pace. The area offers plenty to see and do, whether you prefer relaxing, enjoying local food or trying additional activities.

You can enjoy lunch at one of the nearby restaurants in the Pyhä resort area, or simply stroll around the fell village and take in the peaceful Arctic atmosphere. With your Winter Adventure Guide to Pyhä Fell (included in your trip), you will get recommendations, discounts, maps and insider tips on the best places to visit during your stay.

If you want to stay active, you can try a variety of other activities available in the area, such as:

  • Admiring and photographing reindeer (free)
  • Downhill skiing at Pyhä Ski Resort
  • Visiting the famous Amethyst Mine
  • Winter fat biking on marked snow trails
  • Short hikes or nature walks to panoramic viewpoints
  • Simply relaxing and enjoying the stunning fell landscapes

Your guide booklet includes clear instructions on how to access these activities, where to go, and what is recommended during the season. Whether you choose adventure or relaxation, Pyhä Fell offers something for everyone.

At 17:00, your bus will depart back to Rovaniemi from the same meeting point where you arrived.

17:00 – 19:00 – Return to Rovaniemi

At 17:00, it’s time to say goodbye to Pyhä Fell. Please return to the same meeting point where the bus dropped you off earlier. Your guide will assist the group and ensure that everyone is comfortably on board the Pyhäkuru Adventure Bus.

As we begin the return journey to Rovaniemi, you can relax, unwind and enjoy the scenic Arctic landscapes rolling past your window. This is a perfect moment to look through your photos, sip a drink, or simply rest after an active and rewarding day in the fells.

The bus will arrive back in Rovaniemi around 19:00, returning you to Poromiehentie 3, close to Revontuli Shopping Center. From there, you can easily walk back to your accommodation or pick up your car from the Revontuli parking hall.

The bus makes a short drop-off stop at Santa Claus Village on the way back to Rovaniemi at approximately 18:50.

  • Not suitable for travellers with reduced mobility or wheelchair users (the adventure park and cliff routes require climbing and moving on uneven ground)
  • Warm winter clothing is required (jacket/snowsuit, insulated trousers, warm boots, gloves, hat, neck warmer)
  • This activity takes place outdoors on snowy surfaces
  • Travel insurance is recommended
  • Weather conditions may affect the experience, but the activity runs in most winter conditions
  • The bus cannot provide child seats or infant carriers — this experience is not recommended for infants
  • Drugs or alcohol are strictly prohibited before or during the adventure session

  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event,
  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 358 days or less before the event.
