Traditional Reindeer Farm Visit with Feeding the Reindeer
This tour is perfect for those who want to get up close with these incredible animals. The tour begins around 9 am, as our guide greets you and drives you to one of the most traditional reindeer farms in Lapland. Upon arrival, the reindeer herders will meet you and introduce you to their reindeer. Since it’s early in the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to feed the reindeer some breakfast – some lichen, which is their favourite food!
After this, the reindeer herders will guide you to a campfire, where you can enjoy some hot drinks and snacks, whilst they tell you about their lifestyle and reindeer husbandry – the perfect opportunity to ask all your reindeer related questions! If there’s time, the herders might even show you how to catch a reindeer with a lasso! Then, it’s time to head back in our vans to Rovaniemi. If you wish, our guides can drop you off at the Santa Claus Village after the tour, or bring you back to our office to join another tour and continue the adventure!
