31st August 2020: the sky gets darker… and greener!
As the arctic night sky gets darker and darker, the Northern Lights are coming back too! This was a big surprise for our guests who did not expect to see them so early in the year. Actually late August – September is a very great period to spot the precious Aurora Borealis!
Yesterday, the forecats were very promising. It only took us a short drive out of Rovaniemi to immediately find splendid green arches dancing over our heads. The Northern Lights were so strong that we could easily spot some red and blue rays as well! And the best part: we could enjoy gracious reflections on the peaceful lake, as snow has not come yet.
Definitely, the new aurora season has kicked off! And we are all very excited about it!
September is one of the best months to see the Northern Lights!
